HOUSING AND DESIGN SPECIALIST - OMAHA

The League of Human Dignity is seeking an individual to conduct assessments, draw designs, write specifications, and conduct inspections for completed construction projects that make the homes of Consumers wheelchair accessible. This individual will draw designs for projects in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Lincoln and Omaha Nebraska, and will be based in the League’s Omaha Center for Independent Living.

The minimum qualifications for this position are a Baccalaureate Degree in architecture, design, construction science, or related field. 4 years of full time experience in the above fields may be substituted for the degree. In addition, applicants must have at least 1 year of work experience in the above described fields utilizing ADAAG, UFAS, ANSI, and applicable local, state and federal building codes.

Travel throughout the League’s Council Bluffs, Lincoln, and Omaha Centers for Independent Living Centers is required. You must provide your own means of transportation, and will be reimbursed at the IRS Standard Mileage Rate.

The starting salary for this position is $33-$35K per year, plus a generous benefit package.

Scottsbluff Nebraska Office Director

The League of Human Dignity is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to serve at the Office Director of the League’s Scottsbluff, Nebraska Medicaid Waiver Office. The starting date for this position is July 17, 2015.

In order to be eligible for consideration, you must have at least a Baccalaureate Degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university. In addition, you must have at least 3 years paid full time experience in management at a Center for Independent Living, human service agency, or large human service program serving people with disability or older adults. Experience must include supervision of staff, case management, and other related duties.

Four years successful full time experience working with Nebraska’s Aged and Disabled Medicaid Waiver Program is preferred.

The League of Human Dignity’s Scottsbluff Office provides services coordination and resource development services to Nebraskan’s with Disability who are receiving services from the Nebraska Adults with Disability Medicaid Waiver Program.

Services that are provided include in home level of care determination, assessment, development; with consumers, of a plan of services, and regular follow up to assure plan implementation, and the effectiveness of the plan.

Also included in the provided services is assisting consumers to locate in home providers, complete the provider enrollment process, process provider billing documents, and monitor provider performance.

$38-$42K per year plus generous benefits package.

SECRETARY - LINCOLN

The League of Human Dignity seeks a highly motivated person to serve as a full time Secretary. This person will perform data entry, operate various office machines, answer multi-line phone system and manage calls, greet guests, process billing documents, file and perform various other clerical duties as assigned.

To be considered for this position, you must have at least a high school diploma or GED, and at least 2 years full time experience performing data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, greeting customers, and answering multiline phones. Must have excellent math skills, computer skills, excellent customer service skills, and demonstrated experience managing multiple projects.

Independent Living Advisor - Norfolk

The League of Human Dignity is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a full time Independent Living Advisor working out of our Norfolk Center for Independent Living. This individual will provide an array of services that assist people with disability to live independently in their homes and communities. Services will include information and referral, peer mentor services, advocacy, independent living skills training, and services that help people transition from nursing homes to independent living situations, financial benefits counseling, coordination of services, and a variety of other services that support people to lead independent lives.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Bachelors Degree in Social Work, counseling, educational psychology, education, human development, or closely related human service field, or equivalent full time experience, or a combination of education and equivalent full time experience. In addition, you must also have at least one year of full time experience in a combination of case management, case documentation, coordination of services, collaboration with community resources, teaching, or training.

This position requires travel throughout the League’s Norfolk Service Area, and you will need to provide own means of transportation. We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual who has a sincere desire to assist people.

As a Services Coordinator you will determine the eligibility of applicants for the Nebraska Medicaid Waiver Program for Adults with Disability, conduct a needs assessment, and in conjunction with Consumers develop a plan of services. You would assist to recruit independent in home providers, negotiate rates, authorize, and monitor services. This is not an exhaustive description of job duties.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have a Baccalaureate degree in relevant area of Human Services, and 2 years full-time experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, or community health fields are required. Services Coordination will be provided in Consumers’ homes, so travel throughout the League’s Omaha Service area is required. Applicants must also be proficient in the use of computers and various computer software programs. You will be expected to provide your own transportation, and we will reimbursement you on a per mile basis. Qualified individuals with disability are strongly encouraged to apply.
