The League of Human Dignity offers informational presentations and disability awareness training sessions for businesses, organizations, and students of all ages.
Contact your local League office to arrange a presentation, tour, or awareness training tailored to meet the needs of your business or organization. Following are a few of the topics we can help you address:
- DID YOU KNOW?— We cover some of the historial
facts about people with disabilities, rights issues and landmark
legislation. We also present the stories of national and local
disability rights activists who are most likely to be quoted
and referenced by leaders in the movement.
- DISABILITY ETIQUETTE— This part of the presentation outlines manners and expectations that will help everyone feel more comfortable in their relationships with people with disabilities.
- LEARN THE LINGO— Find out what terms are derrogatory and which ones are positive. Every consumer segment has it's own vernacular, people with disabilities have their own preferences for references and choice of words.
